    would be sort of an inverse situation to the 2008 presidential situation where the republican nominee for president wins the popular vote 53/46. Under that situation, New Jersey could potential go republican 50/49 and Menendez could go down in a similar manner to Elizabeth Dole. However, I think both situations are extremely unlikely. Even if Obama did lose, he would most likely still have a comfortable win in New Jersey. Not to mention the state is incredibly expensive to advertise in. Had Kean vs. Menendez been in 2010 rather than 2006, Menendez would have been very vulnerable. So he's safe until something else happens to shift the situation.
