  •  The only good thing... (6+ / 0-)

...about the heat is that it seems to have stopped Rush from holding up the weather to "prove" that global climate change is a hoax. Until the next winter, anyway, I suppose.

Rush can always make some shit up. It's what he gets paid to do.

Perhaps as time goes by a number of dittoheads will start to learn that a 116 heat index is something a little bit new, considering that the humidity is getting higher.

I remember growing up in Houston just at the point where people were getting rich enough that air conditioning (which was also getting cheaper) started to become common. After that point (about 1958 for us) my mom never succeeded in getting us out of the house for more than about 15 minutes at a time in the summer.

Trying to imagine how it's going to feel outside there after it gets 7 degrees warmer routinely. I can't. Probably because I spent 30 years in Idaho Falls where you still have to wear gloves and a fleece when bicycling in the mornings in April and some of May to avoid freezing things off, lol.

The rich aren't worried about any of this, and the really fucked up ones will positively welcome the opportunities for humiliation and exploitation that desperation will provide.  They really truly like it when we suffer: it's practically entertainment to them and they think it makes us better people.
