    for Obama supporters, IMO.

earns you an HR. You Obamaites really need to learn to defend your guy with reason other than insults generated by your blind allegiance.

No, I'm actually a progressive democrat and why I come here.

As a progressive democrat, I was not impressed with today's "compromise lecture".    Really wish our President, the one I wore holes in my shoes for in 2008 and donated what I didn't have, and phone banked til I was horse, and stood at the front of my class and campaigned for....really wish he would "grow a pair"....to be perfectly frank.

Almost to the point of not wanting to listen anymore.

"they" don't call themselves "progressive democrat" ...

that was the  shibboleth and you failed.

        •  Most Democrats capitalize "Democrat"... (0+ / 0-)

even "progressives"... it is, after all, a proper noun... we also don't use "Democrat" as an adjective...

Democrat is capitalized if used as a proper noun, true, however I used it as a common noun in this case as I was simply referring to my political leaning rather than using it as a title.  Since progressive is the adjective in that sentence modifying the common noun "democrat" not sure why you are grading my grammar....when democrat was never once used as an adjective anywhere in my entire post.

Please discuss the points of my post rather than trying to lure me into a debate over grammar, especially considering I am an English professor.

If you have something to disagree with me in what I said, and not how I said it, please use your time and mine debating the topic at hand.

            Thanks.

            •  An "English professor" who was "horse"? (0+ / 0-)

              Hmmm...

                How old are you??

Debate what I said, if you are able.   That was a Type O not a misspelling, as this stuff means something to me and I'm emotional when I type it.

I love this President; weep in joy the entire day of his inauguration. I have defended him and defended him and wished with everything inside me that he would be the President I voted for.  I want him to be so bad.  Sadly, it is not the case.  He is failing; he is folding and compromising when there should never be a compromise.  No sitting Democrat...president, senator, rep should ever, ever say they will consider a cut to the social net.  It should never happen, and there simply is no excuse for it.

I didn't vote for that, and you didn’t vote for that.  He never campaigned on that.

So clap until you can't clap anymore, but I have stopped for the moment...until the Obama I voted for comes back.

This is the internet.  Content trumps nitpicking grammar.

              •  I give a crap... intentionally not capitalizing (0+ / 0-)

"Democrat" is commonly used as an insult amongst certain factions... it's not as if the "content" was particularly riveting either... there was a tone of "concern" that seemed a bit over the top to me...

A few thing didn't add up in the comment, specifically that someone who purportedly actively campaigned for Obama and phone banked until they were "horse" would more than likely identify his/her self as a Democrat (large "D")... independents voted for Obama more than McCain, but I don't believe many were actively involved in the campaign...

Kind of had an "eau de peanuts" ring to it to me... if I'm wrong, I stand corrected...

    •  Certainly not analogous to FoxNews... (2+ / 0-)

      not even close...

Tell me, what is the FoxNews equivalent to Morning Joe?

Do they deliberately lie to misinform the viewers, otherwise known as propaganda?  NO!  They are indeed a form of infotainment, but is nothing even close to FOX News.  It is not damaging to the country like FOX and the rest of the right wing propaganda machine.

      Completely different animals.

I hate Fox News.  So?  Doesn't mean I'm going to defend MSNBC.

a "defense" of MSNBC... it's just pointing out an important difference between the two...

Fox is dangerous propaganda with far reaching influence.  MSNBC as I said is infotainment for Obama supporters.

            •  I think you're being overly dismissive of MSNBC (0+ / 0-)

and those (like myself) who tend to watch it over CNN or FoxNews... doesn't mean I blindly support President Obama or that I don't seek news from other sources as well...

It's not your insult of MSNBC that's problematic, it's your generalization of those of us who watch it...

              •  Sorry I offended you. (0+ / 0-)

It's not personal.  Just my take on MSNBC in general not specific to every viewer.
