  •  "I will veto any debt limit-raising bill which (2+ / 0-)

includes any cuts to domestic spending. Send me a clean bill, or the nation will go into default and it will be on your heads."

Period. How hard is it for this guy to stand up and say something, anything, for us?

How far to the right do the Dems have to move before you stop calling them Dems?

    •  Obama would never say that. (0+ / 0-)

It's too combative. He's a negotiator and a skilled, albeit inexperienced, politician.

He's not prone to laying down ultimatums (I know it's redundant to mention this). That works well during elections, not so well as POTUS. Recall his prevarication about Libya - no matter what you think of the outcome. He likes to have his cake and eat it too.

Anyway, if he said this, the Republicans would never send him such a bill and he would be forced to veto whatever they did send him. Obama would then own the default and the game would be over for him. The man is not stupid.
