Europe has a much better record on health and food awareness -- except when it comes to smoking!

areas in most places now; you need to be in open air. It is hard to completely make people nuts, although americans like to work hard at it (having been yelled at by my mom's mailman for smoking outside while he is driving around in polluted air) ... :)

and then went back. was down to 10 a day, but have increased again as I was stressed out. need to either go down or quit for good; but I admit it, I am an addict.

I started at 10, stopped at 20 something, started at 30 something and finally stopped at 40 something. The last time I quit was the hardest, which is good because I'll never pick up another cigarette again, thinking I can smoke just one! I'm no longer that arrogant.

Addictions are cruel and we all have them in different forms and to different degrees. I've had many. I'm thankful that I'm far removed from the most dangerous of them (drugs, alcohol and abuse). Maybe overcoming being addicted to abuse would make a good diary for the women's group.

            •  I think that would be a great diary, hope (1+ / 0-)

geminijen sees this. Perhaps you can write a diary for the women's dialogue on this topic, I think it is an important one.

I know both ends of the subject very well.

We are currently being abused on a worldwide scale, so it might also be timely. I'll pm her to see what she thinks, but I'll start writing it now because I've had nothing but clicks this week via Murdoch, ALEC, the current intentional crash via the fake debt ceiling crisis and all things abusive.

I think I could really get into this and maybe even empower some, at least on a personal level anyway because a lot of women are being forced into abusive relationships right now, through no fault of their own.
