  •  gotta love it... (0+ / 0-)

“Have any apparently law-abiding Americans had their communications collected by the government?”

    answered with...

“There are certain circumstances where that authority may exist.”

“it is a very complicated question.”

followed by a "We'll get back to you."

afraid this is going to be, maybe, a hundred-year-long question... or maybe a never-ending question. technology races on...

paraphrasing, "we've got all these toys that are nailing you all down to the centimeter, and those toys are always getting better. we'll get back to you on it."

respect the morals, not the messenger. i bold everything i say for i do not preach to the choir; i preach to the new... or the trolls. WRONG=RIGHT IS NOT CORRECT. ONE SIDE IS WRONG. THE OTHER SIDE IS MORE CORRECT THAN THE OTHER.

    •  well, if they're tracking the right wing radicals? (0+ / 0-)

on people threatening to kill public officials including the President?

At what point does it become a clear and present danger?

If only they had been tracking the nut job that killed the Kansas doctor in his church vestibule BEFORE he was murdered.

"There's nothing serious about a plan that claims to reduce the deficit by spending a trillion dollars on tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires." - President Obama

      •  If only, but not really (0+ / 0-)

With all their "pre-cog"-like powers, there are simply too many Potential Criminals (what about the ones who act normal until they explode?) for the Government to chase them all.

Would you rather live in a virtual prison (even though crimes are still committed in real prisons and jails all the time), or live without any surveillance carp at all?

I know which one I'd choose, if I could.
