    Not only does this speak to me personally as to how demotivated I became through the schooling process in our education system through the 80's and early 90's but it echos what many of my current coworkers share of their encounters with it.

    The use of coercive force is a vice to the human spirit and always causes us to react against it - even to our own disservice.

    I just wish this thinking was applied more often to all of life especially to the idea of government as either disapproving matron or punishing father.
