    Each state has its own way of handling hsing. Here in FL, under the two basic legal options for handling the paperwork, you can basically hs however you like.

    But hsers are such a tiny percentage of the overall school-age population, I don't think we have ever made a big dent in the public school system. Depending on how you count us, figure between 2 and maybe 6 percent.

    And many hsers are operating outside the "school-at-home" model. Yes, many buy a curriculum in a box but many of us choose from a variety of approaches and mix and match as it suits us and our children.

    No solid numbers because that's how it is.
