    their jobs and will lose them were the ones who voted these rethugiosos into office.  But the wise will be taken down with the foolish on this one, I fear.

      this is critical service and in these rural towns, these jobs may very well be the one thing that separates a modest but vibrant little town from a shuttered up ghost town.

      These Republicans didn't campaign on this issue. I don't recall any of them ever mentioning it. What they did say a lot is, "jobs, jobs, jobs." If you live in a small town and you're lucky enough to be a ramper at the airport, but your brother is unemployed, and his family is living with you, that sounds pretty good.

      I don't recall any Republican congress going after EAS before, so why would these folks expect it?

      I think that we can be compassionate enough to see that many of their constituents were sold a fraudulent bill of goods.

      And we don't have to wish them ill. EAS services rural areas. But as it's named, it is essential. We need to work to protect it even if not a single progressive or independent-leaning American is affected.
