my comment closely, to wit: "proposting higher taxes and more means testing".  Sound familar?

      •  Well, except for the eligibity age rise and cuts (0+ / 0-)

Thugs forced, that is the WH plan: i.e. raise tax revenue and riase the dedictibles etc for wealthy Medicare beneficiaries (means test).

IOW, the WH & BO isn't about a 'new age of autsterity' either.  He feels he's got to accept the Thug discretionary cuts as their irreducible cost - cause they just hate the folks who rely on them of something (I try not to understand Thug 'logic', it causes brain damage) in order to avoid default, but insisted on things that were actually progressive in the true economic sense.

OTOH, the whole age thing was just a big silly. :)  (Seriously, I think BO knows there's likely to be another real reform of medicare before medical costs eat the country.  I doubt he expects any agreement to change something 20 years from now to mean anything then.  'Course, I could be wrong.  And it is stupid politics, given Thugs need coverage for the Ryan FU.)
