Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

I am not a troll. Okay, i'm not. But, I have been accused of being one on at least 3 occasions for daring to speak an unpopular opinion. From voicing my honest opinion on the Trayvon Martin Case or explaining why I don't happen to think that everyone from the South is an evil, redneck, racist, homophobe. I agree with the majority view point on this site on many things. I'm for same-sex marriage, I believe in a woman's right to choose, I believe chuch and state should be separate. So for the most part I enjoy the site however, it annoys me to no end when I voice my opinion on something, and it's not the popular view point, so I just get bombed with comments telling me I'm a troll or just HR my comment away. And it isn't that I can't handle people disagreeing with me. I can. I just don't like the assumption that if everyone on this site doesn't have the exact same opinion on everything, you're a shill for the right-wing. If you're wondering why I won't leave the site because of this it's simple; I agree with most things said on the site. However, I'm an individual, and am not particularly keen on having to label each of my opinions as "liberal" or "progressive" or "conservative", or anything else. I am liberal on some issues and conservative (at least more so than most on this site) on others. I don't like feeling that if I don't march the party line I'm somehow an evil anti-woman,black,gay,immigrant monster. This in no way applies to everyone on this site, I just had to vent and if you feel the way I do, I would be happy to hear your comments, hey, even if you don't agree with me. I know the fact that I felt the need to even makes this diary, will seems suspicious to some but, hey, I had to say what I had to say.
