Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

when I called in we were all muted because over 100 people volunteered for that 2 hour slot.

Please keep volunteering! keep the momentum up! we're likely clobbering them in the GOTV effort.

I had a total of about 15 people who were voting for Barret. 1 was undecided. 1 Was on the fence before the call As far as I can tell. some had already voted. Only 4 had declared for walker.

this is the first time i've ever done GOTV and I have to say it was great and i'm encouraged but (negative aspects below the fold for those who just want to keep it positive)

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

DFA is apparentally not using former democratic voters but a mix of likely voters that is somewhat biased towards dems

I volunteered for an addtional 7 minutes because i got in late.

the last 45 minutes was not too fun though. I got told by TWO people we wasted tax payer money, a walker supporter who told me he would not vote for him if he was the last man alive and a man who screamed he would never vote  for that asshole.. There were all of 4 or 5 walker supporters-I was left wondering why I was talking to these people (but laughing somewhat)

ONE IDIOT told me that he thought this was a waste of tax payer money and I said ot him yeah I feel like the recallers when you get 1 million bloody sigs should at the very least fund the recall to appease him. I do feel that way. He said he thinks WI needs to get it's head out of it's ass and it's not 1800 anymore

all I could think was "Yeah....We don't have child labor anymore-which rush limbaugh wants to bring back and most republicans are making us BACKSLIDE in progress....moron" I marked him as do not call

A number of people had moved out of state. Why are we calling them?

However i did get in a few decent chats in the last 45.. One person told me they were voting not for walker but woudln't say who. some young 29 year old chick.  I told her that was awesome (i'm a bit too liberal for the party sometimes) but I was supporting barrett. She might be on on our side. I thought about just staying on but I think that's enough being yelled at today. some people told me they were calling too much. 1  had already been hit up by the door to door team. ONE talked my ear off in support of barrett. He told me he didn't get why people were voting against their own interest.

MOST calls were ringing or answering machines though.

I did about 130. if I talked to you today HI! my name is paul. i was using my real name which I rarely do. I go by Dae! I currently reside in Portland Oregon.

3:37 PM PT: it's an HONOR to be on the rec list! I've been here sense 2005 IIRC and I'm FINALLY on it? Thank you ever so much!

3:38 PM PT: One more thing I wanted to say as per the comments: I know you're hearing we have ONE MAJOR GOTV Effort here. IF we get complacent we will LOSE. if you plan to volunteer or give money don't just do that-encourage others to do the same and makes sure they encourage others as well. There has been ALL too many times we have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory just thru our sherer complaceny and sureness we would WIN. Scott walker is confident-OVer confident. Let's make DAMN sure he underestimates us.
