We're grillin' em up fresh in Virginia! Come on down to the Richmond City Jail and get your own slow roasted inmate.
100F outside? 110F inside. Not accounting for humidity. The other day was 104F.
104F outside the jail.
Despite the deaths and heat stroke related illnesses pouring out of Richmond's jail, no one has made progress getting things fixed.
Give me a dollar figure Sheriff Woody. What kinda money we talkin' about to get the jail to a zero kill temperature?
You need fans? You need portable AC units? Tell me. I'm dead serious and burning to help. If I ever end up in Richmond's jail, I'd like to increase my odds of survival.
I don't have a lot of money, but I know some that do. You tell me what you need and I'll find it.
Give me a dollar figure for emergency cooling. Sheriff, I'd also like some figures on heat related illnesses, death/otherwise, of inmates. How many inmates suffered heat related illnesses in the last week? I also need access to the temperature inside the jail from April 2012 till October. I'll try contacting you directly again later today.
I'm not blaming anyone (yet). I'm just a tad concerned that a local jail is killing people without the dignity of a quick, painless death.
