Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Welcome!!! The purpose of this regular series is to promote enthusiasm and action among Daily Kos members. Willard will likely outraise President Obama. However, we believe that we can still win if (1) we can remain competitive financially, and (2) we volunteer our time and energy (GOTV, canvassing, phonebanking, LTE, ...).

Hi, all!  To those here that know me that I'm authoring a diary for Obama Nightly News probably does not come as much of a surprise.  I'm a proud and enthusiastic supporter of President Obama and I take particular interest in pushing back against the meme President Obama is not a supporter of Jewish-Americans and will bleed Jewish-American support this year.  Anyway, this is my first diary for Obama Nightly News, a series in which I am proud to take part.  Please follow me below the squiggly for some news.
Intro

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

Let's start with a comment from an enthusiastic young supporter why she supports President Obama's re-election and why she is working so hard for him:

I knew then that I needed to be involved with his next campaign. President Obama has been a fantastic leader for the past three and a half years. He has achieved so much, despite opposition that puts petty party issues before the best interests of all Americans. I feel safe with President Obama in office, knowing that despite conservative efforts, he will stand up for women, the LGBT community, and working families. His accomplishments are historic, from the Affordable Care Act to authorizing the apprehension of Osama bin Laden. The President has proven his dedication to improving the lives of veterans by increasing funding to the Department of Veterans Affairs, in addition to effectively ending two wars.
President Obama took some jabs at Mitt Romney and had fun at his town hall in Ohio today.  It is clear that he, and others in his campaign, will continue to draw the sharp distinction between Romney, who supports the efforts to ship jobs overseas, and himself who seeks to create jobs here in the United States.
“So I want everybody to understand, Ohio, I’ve got a different theory,” he said. “We don’t need a president who plans to ship more jobs overseas or wants to give more tax breaks to companies that are shipping jobs overseas. I want to give tax breaks to companies that are investing right here in Ohio.”
The President also joked with a local barber when he turned down an offer of a haircut:
“You know that you would not want a president who was disloyal to his barber,” Obama replied with a big grin, as the crowd cheered. “Right? I mean, a man and his barber, that’s a – that’s a strong connection.”
Members of the crowd cheered, realizing that it was all in good fun.

President Obama also answered the burning question about which type of Girl Scout cookie is his favorite.  He answered that his favorite is Thin Mints.  Politico reports that Thin Mints are the most popular, accounting for one-quarter of all sales.

Finally, if you want a good laugh at the expense of the Romney campaign, head over to my friend weatherdude's piece, where he mocks the latest gaffe made by the Romney campaign.  It appears the Romney camp forgot to cross all its t's and dot all its i's before spitting out its response to President's Obama's great ad "Firms."  As a result, YouTube pulled the web video for copyright infringement.
