Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

When I saw Bob Corker's newest campaign
ad, I was speechless! The gist of the ad is:
MY life has been filled with many financial
successes, but until I joined a christian
mission to help the needy in haiti,
something was missing. When I returned to
Chattanooga from the mission in Haiti, I
freely gave to the needy in Chattanooga's
inner city. My charity got me the job as
Mayor of Chattanooga then Senator. Vote
for me because I'm a one man charity
machine! If I didn't know any better, I would
have thought he was running for congress
in an inner-city district. He's not, obviously.
His constituency is the stereotypical
southern, ultra conservative. These are the
main points of his ad:
 1) Building his business wasn't satisfying
enough for him, so he joined a church
mission to help the needy in Haiti.
2) When he returned from Haiti, he
suddenly noticed that the inner city of
Chattanooga had similar needs to Haiti, so
he got to work " helping the needy here!"
3) He made a difference for thousands of
families by giving them the opportunity for a
decent home & a better life!
4) All of his altruistic endeavors led to his
election as mayor of Chattanooga, which led
to the Senate.
5) Looking back, knowing he made a
difference by creating an environment for
others to achieve success was the most
satisfying feeling of all!
So, he wants us to vote for him b/c he cares
soooo much, works sooooo hard, gives so
consistently to the under privileged (& goes
to church)? Yet he goes to Washington to
make sure the govt isn't able to do those
same things that he touts as his
What does this say about him as a person?
Or how he views the electorate? What does
it say about those who vote for him? This is
just baffling to me. I would really like to
know the psychology of this.
