Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

We have Senator Claire McCaskill who is a blue tinged Democrat, facing off with a certifiable lunatic Todd Akin.  The legitimate rape and and criticism of a strong female opponent of not being ladylike and the fact he is really too inbred even for the tea party leaders is just incredible.  But now the deadline has come and gone and the Republican party is showing its true face (again) and going all in on winning a senate seat for the worst possible candidate ever.  But then again all we have to do is look at their presidential candidate.

Missouri has been seemingly written off by most Democrats and liberals.  It is only eleven electoral collage votes after all, it is the buckle of the bible belt that continues to elect officials like Senator Roy Blunt (remember the Blunt amendment?) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...

This is not a plea for help, with the recent unionization of nurses in Kansas City and St Louis  http://www.nationalnursesunited.org/(The Robin Hood Tax?  We help build that!) and a general stirring among the unions, community organizers, students and even our faith based brothers and sisters we will have plenty of help.  Attitudes are changing just like the times... http://www.youtube.com/...

More ranting on Missouri's famous sons below the fold...

Intro

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

Senator Roy Blunt, here is a sample of the rote partisan reply's...

With regard to same-sex marriage, I support retaining the traditional definition of marriage as a union between a man and a woman.  In 1996, Congress passed and the President signed the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). (screw equality)

On proper chemical testing/labeling.
I am wary of reform proposals that allow government action without a showing that public health is at risk through sound science.  (the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down, I know - Todd, but House Science Committee, really Roy?)

We have a social responsibility to help the environment... If Congress enacts onerous legislation to reduce our emissions when foreign nations aren't doing the same, we will create devastating economic consequences for ourselves... (fuck the environemnt!)

On internet privacy.
I am a cosponsor of the Protect IP Act which would cut off foreign websites dedicated to counterfeiting and piracy that steal American jobs, hurt the economy, and harm customers. (or piss  off any of my big money corporate sponsors)

As if Roy and the shit stain Todd is not enough, we have had the major insult of this, http://house.mo.gov/... , it was a private affair using public money and property by the way.
And of course the man can never STFU, "I'll just tell you this, if this passes and it's five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented -- I am leaving the country. I'll go to Costa Rica." http://www.cbsnews.com/... Then he backed out of that statement faster than Mitt Romney. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...   On Todd, "This was an absolutely ridiculous thing to say, to start qualifying rape in any way, legitimate — I know he apologized for it, but it's still an indication that there's more there that could potentially bubble up and be harmful,"  Not even a nopoligy or real anger over what was said, just butt hurt because the jackhole said it out loud. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...  And in the middle of the Sandra Fluke fuck up he actually called Senator Claire McCaskill a "commie babe liberal" http://www.stltoday.com/... something which I found hard to decipher.  With the "babe" between commie and liberal is this a tiny oxycontin shrunken penis http://www.scholarsandrogues.com/... crying out for attention/fantasy fulfillment?  I know this is old but it could never hurt to rub it in, so to speak. http://clairemccaskill.com/...

And Todd, the last word on ladylike comes from Diane Hartman whose husband tells her that belching and swearing aren't ladylike, she replies "Neither is a blow job, but you don't complain about that...
