Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

My mother was a registered Democrat until she married my father in 1959.  She is a registered nurse and a practicing Roman Catholic.  My father was an engineer at Rockwell International.  They both had lucrative careers.  In 1968 my mother gave birth to a stillborn child.  It was a genetic problem that had a 25 percent chance of happening with every pregnancy.  My mother when on the pill until she had a hysterectomy many years later.  In 1972 they adopted me.  When I was 14 I was put on the pill for medical reasons.  My parents had no problems with birth control.  Please, if you care to, join me after the jump.

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

My mother went to church to pray, my father for appearances.  My parents always voted
Republican.  They were greedy and did not want to share to make our world  a better place.  They did, however, use society and cheat society, every chance they got.  They were also racists, though I did not find this out until I wanted to date a black man.
When my father died in 2001 he left my mother quite well off.  Several years later she married a a rich, Catholic republican.  They are both in their late seventies and use Medicare and social security.  They have already voted for Romney.  They live in a wealthy section of Orange County, California.
When I explained to my mother what a vote for Romney would mean for women, she said those things would never happen.  She cannot get pregnant, so she does not mind selling the rest of us out for what she thinks will be lower taxes.
Right now my family of 3 lives in a motel room.  We are not better off then we were 4 years ago but we will be soon if President Obama is reelected.  A Romney presidency would cost my mother little but devastate my family, she does not care about that.  She does not care that a Romney  presidency would destroy the future of her only grandchild.       She and her husband are not stupid, They do not watch Fox or listen to Rush.  They are simply greedy and do not even come close to practicing what they preach.  If I believed in souls, I would fear for theirs.  I do not know how to make them see the light. I do not think  they are  rich enough to benefit from a Romney presidency.  I think they just like to think they are.  They will not get their greedy, cold hearted way.
