Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Every day is a new day and with that, a new opportunity.
EVERYONE is welcome and please join us each morning at 7:30 AM PACIFIC
to tell us what you're working on, share your show & tell, vent, whatever you want...
...this is an open thread. Nothing is off topic.
I think it's safe to say that you all are the choir at this eleventh hour. Many of you have voted, the most amazing of you are in the physical trenches at Dem HQs or walking and knocking on doors. I know this because of the numerous text updates I receive from you all. You all ROCK.

As an event planner, it's way past time to put it out there... you dynamos, what are you going to do with all that energy after the election?

Well, 350.org has been organizing for after the election with something that speaks to me.

One of my focus points on 11/7 will be climate change. I'd like to urge you to gather together the people you know in your area and attend one of the events organized below by 350.org. Bill McKibben is the featured speaker. A group of SFKossacks and I are attending the event in Palo Alto on 11/10. More are attending the Green Festival event in San Francisco also on 11/10. The Berkeley event on 11/9 is sold out.

Kossacks across the Nation! Can you organize a group to join Bill McKibben and 350.org's movement? I'll help you advertise your event here at * NEW DAY.*

Do the Math Tour with Bill McKibben

SUPERSTORM SANDY
Sandy hit the East Coast with power like we’ve never seen before. Fossil fuel polluters need to start paying for the damage they do to the world — starting now. 350.org is calling for contributions to help clean up communities hit by Sandy, and the fossil fuel corporations need to pay up, instead of spending millions to buy elections. Join 350.org/sandy
Tour Dates for Bill McKibben
ABOUT THE TOUR

This won’t be your typical lecture.

Each event will be a unique and interactive experience, unlike any talk you’ve been to before. It will pick up where Bill McKibben’s landmark Rolling Stone article left off — and everyone who comes will be asked to join a growing movement that is strong enough to stand up to the fossil fuel industry. Together we’ll mount an unprecedented campaign to cut off the industry’s financial and political support by divesting our schools, churches and government from fossil fuels.

This won’t be easy: we’re up against the most profitable, powerful, and dangerous industry in history. But we have our own currency: creativity, courage and if needed, our bodies.
