Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

John Schnatter of Papa John's made a lot of press during the Presidential Campaign by stating the following to Politico:

"We're not supportive of Obamacare, like most businesses in our industry. But our business model and unit economics are about as ideal as you can get for a food company to absorb Obamacare," he said.

"If Obamacare is in fact not repealed, we will find tactics to shallow out any Obamacare costs and core strategies to pass that cost onto consumers in order to protect our shareholders best interests," Schnatter vowed....
"Our best estimate is that the Obamacare will cost 11 to 14 cents per pizza, or 15 to 20 cents per order from a corporate basis," Schnatter said."

olitico also noted:
CEO and founder John Schnatter (a Mitt Romney supporter and fundraiser) said the health care law's changes — set to go into effect in 2014 — will result in higher costs for the company — which they vowed to pass onto consumers.
(bold emphasis mine)

and now what's he saying?

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

John Schnatter's "Real Scoop on Papa John's"

Clearly there was some misunderstanding somewhere. The remarks that generated the headlines were made during an entrepreneur class I was asked to speak to at a Florida college. I was asked to share my experience as an entrepreneur and to provide the students with real-life small business situations. Unbeknownst to me, until she identified herself, a reporter was there.
Hold it, right there...
a CEO of any major company has handlers....you know who is asking the questions ahead of time, and yet he admits 'until she identified herself' and then he answered the question...
It's almost as if we are expected to believe that he defamed Obamacare only because he was lead into a trap question by someone who identified themselves as a reporter...
What is more likely is that this is the corporate spin when you where shilling for Romney and were all  bets in on Mr. Cayman, and now that your  company and your statements are on the wrong end of the 332 electoral votes of history, you've decided that your purported statements were 'misinterpreted'. Why? because,  Unbeknownst to me,(a Romney supporter seeking to defeat Obama)  until she identified herself,(at which point I made sure I stated how much more your pizza would cost under Obamacare) a reporter was there.."

Not to worry Mr. Schnatter, most of us are oblivious to Pizza chain's involvements in Politics, and I'll still eat your pizzas - after all Peyton Manning bought 21 Papa John's pizza stores in Denver just  1 week before election day.
But it makes me wonder if Peyton and other franchise owners aren't contacting you about their bottom line, now that your comments are on the losing side of a landslide?
