Posting a Diary Entry
Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as
is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.
When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.
If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.
ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.
One diary daily maximum.
Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries
that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.
I am preparing for a meet up at our house, so this will be brief. I'm sure you all saw Nurse Kelley's very touching diary yesterday, Nurse Kelley Sez: racheltracks needs our prayers and energy. In brief, racheltrack's knee replacement surgery had complications and she is in the ICU on a ventilator. Her daughter contacted me today with an update and a request to post it here -- so here it is, below the fold.
Hi Miss Sara.
I can't even begin to thank you enough for everything that you and the DK community have done for my mama. She talks about so many of you all the time. You being one of the ones that she talks about quite often. She just adores you. I want to post a message on DK giving an update and telling everyone of my love and gratitude and that there is much more hope today. Yesterday I thought would be her last day with us. I did not think that she would make it through the night. I know the some how that love reached her and the overabundance of prayers found their way to God and he heard and answered in the way were all hoping for. I did not sleep last night because I just had this fear in me that if I closed my eyes they would call me and tell me that she was gone, but that if I stayed awake that call would not come. Anyway, my husband and daughter have lowered the boom and told me that until I sleep for at least a couple of hours, I am not allowed to drive the car to go see her. So I wanted to ask if you would be willing to update DK on her improved condition and that I will post on there when I come home from the hospital and that I know in my heart it was because so many people were praying for her. And would you be willing to tell them of the overwhelming gratitude that I have for all of you? I am so exhausted that I am misspelling every second or third word and have to go back and fix it.
Thank you for everything and I love my quilt! It is so beautiful.
With much love and gratitude in my heart, [name omitted]
Please send some loving energy to racheltracks and her daughter. Her daughter's stress is through the roof from worry -- and her blood pressure is reflecting this.
I will be posting a quilt diary for racheltracks tomorrow -- please watch for it.
