Posting a Diary Entry
Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as
is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.
When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.
If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.
ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.
One diary daily maximum.
Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries
that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.
You know what I can't stand? Hypocrisy. You want to protect family values by making gay marriage illegal? Fine, we can have a discussion about that, but I better not catch you in a diaper with a prostitute.
Do you really think that the best way to keep kids safe is to allow guns in schools? That's fine, we can debate about that. But you have to walk the talk and allow guns near politicians. In the U.S. Capitol Building, every visitor is required to go through a metal detectors, and guns are not allowed. What's the matter? I bet Louis Gohmert cant wait to have a shootout with a bad guy and prove how badass he is. He wants teachers to do that in schools, but he doesn't have the balls to do it himself?
You Republican politicians won't hold yourself to the same standard that you hold America's teachers and children. How pathetic is that? If every kid deserves a body guard, since Obama's kids have them, doesn't that mean every kid deserves the same restrictions on guns that you politicians have? Are you telling me that your lives are more important than our children?
What about allowing guns to the RNC?
QUESTION: Rep. Bob Goodlatte, why didn’t the RNC allow concealed weapons into their nominating convention in Tampa? Didn’t that limit Freedom?
GOODLATTE: I don’t know the answer to that question. It may have to do with the Secret Service. As you know, all of those candidates for President of the United States have Secret Service protection. And once you are inside, they want to provide protection to these folks and when you go to presidential rally, you probably are not allowed to carry a weapon into those or an event attended by the President or Vice President or other people protected under that law.
Wait, the NRA just used that EXACT argument to show Obama's hypocrisy, for some reason Republican politicians are allowed to use it? When will the NRA come out in condemnation of Goodlatte?
Don't tell me that refusing to restricting gun use is un-American, and then proceed to restrict gun use! That makes you un-American by your OWN definition.
And don't even get me started on how Republican politicians get paid large salaries on the tax payer's dime to do nothing, while teachers get paid much less, and would get fired if they had the same lazy attitude.
