Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

I'm so old, I don't know what I'm looking at!
That one (Ashley Judd) doesn't understand the Constitution!
You can't depend on men all the time to do the job in government.  Time for me to put their feet to the fire!
Wait, wait, wait...  Hold on a second here!

Not too long ago I had posted a diary that mentioned Rep. John Yarmuth responding to the hype of actress Ashley Judd considering to run for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky, challenging Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.  In that diary, Yarmuth said on Judd:

http://www.dailykos.com/...

"I think she's very interested in becoming a candidate for some office whether it's next year against Mitch McConnell or it's against Rand Paul whether it's for some other office I don't know, but she's a very serious potential candidate."
Intro

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

Now there's new information about the hype of Ashley Judd in the state of Kentucky and it's from none other than John Yarmuth himself!

(Yarmuth talks about Judd after the 03:20 mark)

“She’s been engaged in public policy questions for a number of years,” Yarmuth, a Democrat, told MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts on Tuesday. “I’ve been on programs with her—for instance, in opposition to mountaintop removal mining…This is somebody who has always been very involved in issues and very interested in politics, and she sees an opportunity to make a difference now.”

Yarmuth has previously said that Judd should be seen as a “serious potential candidate,” and could very much be a threat to Sen. Mitch McConnell or Sen. Rand Paul if she chose to run. ”I think acting may have lost a little of its luster for her, so she’s looking to make a difference in a different way,” Yarmuth added.

Serious potential candidate.  Yes, Congressman Yarmuth recognizes Ashley Judd could be a serious potential challenger to Mitch McConnell's chances for re-election.

We know Mitch McConnell is getting unpopular both in the Republican Party and the Democratic Party so its inevitable he'll have a bruising primary to deal with, similar to that which Mitt Romney dealt with when he faced off against Rick Santorum, except without the conning game Romney played.

While the PPP poll gave McConnell an abysmal 37 percent approval rating, the Voter/Consumer Research survey showed him with a much healthier 51 percent approval rating. It also suggests that some of Judd's positions could make her highly vulnerable. McConnell's lead jumped to 20 points after voters were read some of her positions, according to Politico:

The poll found voters like Judd much less when they learn that she lives in Tennessee and Scotland, her grandmother referred to her as a “Hollywood liberal” and she has suggested it is wrong to breed given widespread poverty in regions around the world.

Oh yes, the "Voter/Consumer Research" survey showed him with a much healthier 51 percent approval rating.  Did McConnell direct his staff and 2014 re-election campaign volunteers to vote like crazy in the poll?

Then of course, there's also Ashley Judd herself who appears to have an "uphill" climb to convince Kentucky voters as they're turned off by the idea of the fact that she has two homes in Tennessee and Scotland and that her grandmother referred her as a "Hollywood liberal."  Seriously, WHAT?

Who are these "voters?"  Oh wait, Tea Party Republicans.  I get it.  People in the mold of washed up actress Janine Turner (she's actually from Texas) and don't have any independent way of thinking at all, as in recognizing the notion that Ashley Judd really DOES care about Kentucky citizens, not just growing up in Kentucky herself.

Oh and yes, good ol' junior U.S. Senator from Kentucky Rand Paul (maybe his name was named after Ayn Rand) has some nice words for Ashley Judd:

http://www.csmonitor.com/...

Is actress/activist Ashley Judd positioned too far to the political left to get elected as a senator for Kentucky? That’s the charge one of her potential political opponents is making. Sitting Sen. Rand Paul (R) of Kentucky, in a radio interview Wednesday, said that Ms. Judd is “way too ... liberal for our country” and lives much of the time in the United Kingdom with her Scottish husband, race-car driver Dario Franchitti.

“I heard she lives in Scotland; I thought she was running for Parliament,” Senator Paul joked during his WMAL appearance.

He went on to point out that Judd has long opposed mountaintop-removal coal extraction, in which summit ridges are scraped off to allow easy access to coal seams beneath. Environmentalists say this method is polluting and destructive, but it is widespread in Appalachia, where mining is an economic mainstay.

Wait, hold on a second.  Rand Paul says she's way too liberal for our country?  So I guess Elizabeth Warren REALLY didn't beat Scott Brown in Massachusetts, DID SHE?

Yeah, that joke on the Scotland and Parliment thing:  NOT FUNNY, especially considering Rand Paul is really becoming just another line of brainwashed Republicans who don't think in reality and in the end bring down the U.S. credit rating a notch due to the debt ceiling debacle in the summer of 2011.

“She hates our biggest industry, which is coal, so I say, good luck bringing the ‘I hate coal’ message to Kentucky,” Paul said.
So I say to Paul: "Good luck bringing this message to your re-election campaign!"

This is why both McConnell and Paul don't know who the heck they're dealing with:
