Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Hat-tip to Alex Wagner (subbing for Lawrence O'Donnell) for putting back on the radar: the pontificator of political suicide, the protector of Republican die-hard pigheadness.

Rush decided today to boil down what pursuing Immigration reform will really mean for the GOP -- it means they would have to give up their hatred, in all its varied forms.

Limbaugh:  If GOP Needs To Embrace ‘Amnesty’ To ‘Prove They Don’t Hate Hispanics,’ Then ‘What’s Next?’

by Andrew Kirell, mediaite.com -- June 18, 2013

Over the weekend, Sen. Graham spoke out in favor of the current reform proposals, saying that not passing what critics have rebuked as “amnesty” would result in a “death spiral” for the Republican Party. “I want to take that line of thinking and expand upon it,” Limbaugh said this afternoon. “If one of the main reasons for passing the Gang of Eight immigration bill is so Republicans can prove that they don’t hate Hispanics, then what’s next? Are the Republicans going to have to support gay marriage to prove that they don’t hate gays?

“Are the Republicans then going to have to support affirmative action to prove they don’t hate blacks?” he continued. “And then are they going to have to support legalization of marijuana and forgiving student loans to prove they don’t hate college kids? And so on.”

Well long as you can "still keep on hating" Rush-bo -- because that is really what the Republican Party is all about, isn't it?  That and Gridlocking Government.

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

What do we have to do to get back into the graces of the youths of of America?  The youths of of America voted for Obama in far greater numbers, percentage-wise, than Hispanics did. And that's my point here: Are we going to have to prove we aah, don't hate gays by supporting gay marriage -- is that what this going to come down to?

We're hated -- the Republicans -- not we. The Republicans are hated. And they're hated by all of these groups that vote Democrat. And so the only way that is going to change is to support what all these Democrat groups want -- because that will prove to these Democrat groups, that they are wrong in how they think of us?  It sounds to me like a pretty ingenious trick to get the Republican Party to toss aside what it stands for.

Interesting.  What is it again O Windbaggy Republican Leader, that the Republican Party stands for?

"The Right to hate, who they want, when they want, for whatever shallow reasons they want"  ... is that the idea that trumps all other Republican ideas, Mr Windbaugh?
