Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Daily Kos Radio's Kagro in the Morning show podcasts are now available through iTunes.

Time for a brief break to recharge the batteries, but during the next week, the Kagro in the Morning time slot, from 9-11 a.m. ET will be filled both by panels recorded at Netroots Nation 2013 in San Jose, and (we hope) on occasion by Armando.

And in the meantime, we're offering up daily re-podcasts (is that a word?) of what'll have to pass for "classic" Kagro in the Morning, from a year ago. Hear how well (or how poorly) what we did last year has held up over time!

Listen LIVE here:The Daily Kos Radio Player

Can't see the Flash player? Click here to download the stream directly.

Or if you prefer, why not download the Stitcher app on your favorite mobile device, and search for the Netroots Radio live stream? And hey, when you do, be sure to sign up with the promo code DAILYKOS, and earn Daily Kos Radio $1 in the Stitcher affiliate program!

Please do remember to "favorite" us while you're at Stitcher. We're bouncing up and down in the rankings these days, and the more of you who help us, the more listeners out there who'll find us on the Stitcher network.

Miss yesterday's episode? Another "encore performance" from this time last year. Greg Dworkin rounds up the early summer presidential polling, and talks about why Rassmussen's so weird. Topics of the day: Romney's vacation (and his review of the local lemonade--remember "lemon, wet, good"?); Romney's response to the ACA ruling; the mental gymnastics of anti-tax activists; Romney's offshore tax havens; conservatives and the prosperity gospel; Romney as gaffe machine; the myth of the wealthy "job creator" and carried interest. Armando called in to talk over some of the long-range plans for Daily Kos Radio (not all of which have come to pass). We wrapped up with stories about super-jerk former Reps. Joe Walsh and Thad McCotter and still super-jerk Rep. Bill Young. You can catch it here:

Intro

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

We've been having some chronic problems with the phone-in system, and it's rightly pointed out that if we can't deliver on the promise, we shouldn't hold out the offer.

I'll see what we can do to get the tech straightened out so that we can open the doors again, soon!
