Posting a Diary Entry
Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as
is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.
When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.
If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.
ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.
One diary daily maximum.
Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries
that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.
I am going to have a diary out this week about Michelle Nunn's (D. GA) candidacy for U.S. Senate but I wanted to get this out to you guys now. Senator Kristen Gillibrand (D. NY) is wasting no time raising money for Nunn's campaign:
Exciting news: Democrat Michelle Nunn announced just hours ago that she is running for Georgia’s open Senate seat.
With everything we’re seeing out of Congress, we absolutely need to make sure women like Michelle win.
The alternative is disturbing.
Her potential Republican opponents include the Komen Foundation executive who attempted to defund Planned Parenthood, a Congressman who compared President Obama to Hitler, and another Congressman who defended Todd Akin by saying, "[I]n a situation of rape, a legitimate rape, a woman’s body has a way of shutting down so the pregnancy would not occur.”
Michelle can win. That is why the National Republican Senatorial Committee started attacking her last week before she even announced her candidacy. We can only overcome them by standing together.
She needs to raise $10,000 before her critical July 31 deadline to start strong. Please, contribute whatever you can immediately to help Michelle connect with voters and counter the attacks.
Click here to donate $5 or more to help elect Michelle Nunn to the U.S. Senate. She will be a great senator – but first she needs our help overcoming the attacks:
Michelle is now the second Democratic female challenger running for the Senate in 2014. The daughter of former Senator Sam Nunn and head of the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, Michelle will make a difference by standing for our values from day one.
That is why outside groups like the NRSC and Karl Rove’s American Crossroads will spend whatever it takes to defeat her.
She is counting on us. Michelle is in for a tough race, but she can handle it – especially if we support her. We cannot afford to elect someone with anti-women views or give Republicans the Senate majority.
Help me elect Michelle. She will provide another sorely needed voice in defense of our values.
Donate $5 or more to help Michelle fend off the right-wing attacks. She needs our help getting her campaign off the ground – it cannot wait:
