Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

DARRELL ISSA:  Elijah, I've just had about enough of your whining.
ELIJAH CUMMINGS:  Mr. Chairman, seek the WHOLE truth and nothing but the truth in our investigations of the IRS.
Boy, with the government shutdown and the stress (over nothing) we've seen Darrell Issa go through just before and after the shutdown, you'd think he would at least want to cool it.
Intro

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

But sadly, Issa is still completely unable to do any investigation without being partisan.  It most definitely isn't in his DNA.

Here Elijah Cummings and Darrell Issa have a testy exchange over Issa's decision to tell acting IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel he wasn't welcome to this past Wednesday's hearing on the IRS responsibility in handling the implementation of the Affordable Healthcare Act.

Gee, I wonder why Issa didn't want Werfel to appear aside Sarah Hall Ingram, Director of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Office at the IRS as she was giving her testimony.

However, while Issa may have his supporters (he's got over 100,000 followers on his Twitter account), thanks to the CA Republican Party and GOP in the Golden State being as popular as dog doo-doo, Issa's CA-49 Congressional District is now more situated in San Diego County than before and given SD County voter registration numbers show a competitive voter registration fight over Democrats vs. Republicans, now may be a time to start doing voter registration drives in CA-49 to turn the district into purple, whether by 2014, 2016 or 2018.

Here's the voter registration as of February 2013 by the actual CA-49 Congressional District, which combines parts of San Diego and Orange County.  Note the number of Decline-to-State/Independents:

http://www.sos.ca.gov/...

Orange County:
Democrats:  22,239
Republicans:  44,833
Decline-to-State/Independent:  19,077

San Diego County:
Democrats:  84,282
Republicans:  107,221
Decline-to-State/Independent:  70,938

Total:

Democrats:  106,521
Republicans:  152,054
Decline-to-State/Independent:  90,015

Now if you live in or near CA-49 and want a reason to start voter registration drives or take part in them, note that San Diego County Democratic Party has a calendar that keeps track of all activity going on, whether local Democratic club meetings or voter registration drive events:  http://www.sddemocrats.org/...

Darrell Issa has a Democratic challenger in 2014, at least one so far.  His name is Dave Peiser and here is his contact information:

The website still needs more updating and we still need to know where Peiser stands so if you desire to have another candidate, start contacting the CA State Democratic Party and the San Diego County Democratic Party to see about getting additional candidates to run in the primary against Darrell Issa.
