I know there are many other journeys through the healthcare.gov site, but it seems that everyone's is different. While I am waiting to enroll myself 10x on the site, because I now have gone from a one-person household and application to having to choose 10 health plans for all 10 of me listed before I can sign off and be enrolled, I found the Daily Kos and thought I'd add to the fray.
I started this journey on the first day, Oct. 1st, and had all of the same issues as everyone else with the website being too busy, then there were no questions for the security answers, etc. By October 3rd I was able to complete my application after spending many hours here at work working on it around all of the website glitches. (If my job provided health insurance for me I wouldn't have to use their time to shop.) Since that third day there has been a different issue every time I've logged in to try and choose my plan.
There are five messages waiting for me about my application, but there is no way to view messages.
There is no way to review my application for any changes or updates.
I have viewed, compared, and saved health plans I was considering, only to have them disappear by the next login.
The amount of my subsidy has changed three times and I don't know why because I can't see my application.
As of this week of Nov. 11th, I have been able to "enroll" in my chosen plan, only to be taken to blank pages to confirm.
I called the 800 number and the agent said my application said "enrolled", but when I log in it says it's still "in progress".
After choosing my health plan I am forced to choose a health plan for first one more, then 7 more, now 9 more of me, even though my application was for one person.
When I chose a health plan for the first extra one of me, I thought it was asking me to make a second just-in-case-the-first-plan-wasn't-available choice until I saw at the end that the premium included both choices.
I went back and deselected the second plan, but was unable to get to the confirmation page again.
I waited a day, then logged in again (today)
Now, after having to choose my health plan again I can't get to the confirmation page anymore until I choose a health plan for 9 more of me. Okay, Ill play along again.
Yesterday, before all of the extra "me's" showed up, I was able to get to the confirmation page, click it, only to find a blank white page at the end.
So, now I am choosing my health plan for the 8th of me and I will chronicle what happens as I finish all 10 of me.
All 10 of me are enrolled and I was able to unlock the "Review and Confirm" page, I accepted their terms and conditions and signed. This next page should show me either the one plan I chose for me, or it's going to show me owing 10x the amount for all 10 of me, or it's going to be a blank white page like it was yesterday.
