Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

ATTENTION: READ THE RULES.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

The Cliven Bundy Klan are at it again, this time calling for packing a public debate over public lands in Utah at a meeting called for Wednesday in Salt Lake City....

I wonder if they'll be showing up with assault rifles at the public library.....you never know with this bunch of right wing nutcases.

I'm posting so that public lands supporters and others interested in restraining the excesses of the Bundy Klan will know of their plans for appropriate organizational and operational responses.

Communique from the Bundy Klan (below):

=============

Hi,

We need some support in Salt Lake City, Utah.  State Rep. Ken Ivory will be debating the Transfer of Public Lands with former BLM Director Pay Shay.

As you may know Rep. Ken Ivory spearheaded a Utah Law to force the Federal Government to turn over control of all public lands in the State of Utah.

On Wednesday May 14th, The Tribune's Jennifer Napier-Pearce will moderate an Oxford-style debate on the resolution: "The State of Utah is best suited to manage public lands within its borders."

Arguing for the Transfer Of Public Lands will be Utah House Speaker Rebecca Lockhart and West Jordan Republican Rep. Ken Ivory, president of the American Lands Council.

Arguing against the resolution will be former BLM director Pat Shea and Dan McCool, political science professor and director of the Environmental and Sustainability Studies Program at the University of Utah.

The event, which begins at 7 p.m., is free and open to the public at the Salt Lake City Main Library, 210 E. 400 South.

Make sure you show up early and bring lots of friends.  Lets pack this house early, seating is limited.

Those attending will have an opportunity to vote on which team was most persuasive.

This is your opportunity to learn more about both sides of the Transfer of Public lands issue.

Please attend and support Ken Ivory, Rebecca Lockhart and the Transfer of Public Lands.  This is a very important and key element of correcting the massive government over reach we all suffer from today.

Thank you,
-Carol

Mon May 12, 2014 at 10:51 PM PT: I wonder if Cliven Bundy and his supporters will want to drive ATVs into the public library.

12:01 AM PT: I've emailed the Salt Lake City Tribune, Utah Democrats, Utah Sierra Club, the public lands debate participants, the Mayor of Salt Lake City, the BLM and others to pass on the Bundy Klan call of their nutcase supporters to pack the debate.

12:14 AM PT: On tactical consideration of advocacy communications, Utah progressive Democrats should make some demands on Gov. Gary Herbert (R):

9:12 AM PT: This diary is only the second time for me on the 'recommended list'....thanks DK community.
