Posting a Diary Entry

Daily Kos welcomes blog articles from readers, known as diaries. The Intro section to a diary should be about three paragraphs long, and is required. The body section is optional, as is the poll, which can have 1 to 15 choices. Descriptive tags are also required to help others find your diary by subject; please don't use "cute" tags.

When you're ready, scroll down below the tags and click Save & Preview. You can edit your diary after it's published by clicking Edit Diary. Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

If this is your first time creating a Diary since the Ajax upgrade, before you enter any text below, please press Ctrl-F5 and then hold down the Shift Key and press your browser's Reload button to refresh its cache with the new script files.

  1. One diary daily maximum.
  2. Substantive diaries only. If you don't have at least three solid, original paragraphs, you should probably post a comment in an Open Thread.
  3. No repetitive diaries. Take a moment to ensure your topic hasn't been blogged (you can search for Stories and Diaries that already cover this topic), though fresh original analysis is always welcome.
  4. Use the "Body" textbox if your diary entry is longer than three paragraphs.
  5. Any images in your posts must be hosted by an approved image hosting service (one of: imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com).
  6. Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, keep it brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the <blockquote> tags to clearly identify the quoted material. Violating this rule is grounds for immediate banning.
  7. Be civil. Do not "call out" other users by name in diary titles. Do not use profanity in diary titles. Don't write diaries whose main purpose is to deliberately inflame.

Please begin with an informative title:

Even though Obama decided we should bomb Iraq and drop some humanitarian supplies to help the Yazidis, it hasn't been enough bombing for John McCain. As usual, he wants more military might 'cause that will, you know, fix everything over in the Middle East.

John McCain wants us to bomb Iraq, and Syria, and maybe Iran and North Korea while we're at it. It seems there is no problem so complex that it can't be solved by dropping a large number of 500-pound bombs from the air—maybe even some bunker busters and depleted uranium, just to make sure things get all peaceful and stuff!

Sure, McCain has a moving backstory as a POW in Vietnam, but does he really need to be given a continual platform as a foreign policy and military guru? You'd think a guy who was so wrong about a thing or two would be a little more cautious, but apparently not. Enjoy the cartoon, and be sure to check out the stories behind the cartoon here.

You must enter an Intro for your Diary Entry between 300 and 1150 characters long (that's approximately 50-175 words without any html or formatting markup).

From the brilliant strategic mind of renowned historian and policy theorist, John McCain, comes . . .

Bomb It!  Fun for the whole family!  Ages three and up.

If you've got an intractable foreign policy problem, John McCain knows what to do . . .  Bomb It!

Bomb it anytime!  Anywhere!

If you're already bombing it, heh, you're probably not bombing it enough, so . . . Bomb It some more!

Don't be fooled by that sissy "pinprick" bombing, Bomb It, like a real American!

As seen on TV, Bomb It is great for punditry and guarantees lots of news show air time!

Bomb It means boots . . . on the ground, that is!

These airstrikes don't call in themselves, you know!  How 'bout some of our boys on the ground to make Bomb It even better!

It's time for the real power of Bomb It-- because when you bombed it before, things got a little out of hand, and now the bad guys have the weapons our boots-on-the-ground left behind last time!

So, Bomb It!  Again!  And again!

Bomb It here!  Bomb It there!

There's nothing that can't be fixed with a little Bomb It!

Instantly bomb away memories of earlier bombers with Bomb It!

History is so history!

Whether you're a Republican, Democrat, or not quite sure-- put a little muscle in your might with Bomb It!

John McCain's done the thinking so you don't have to!

Bomb It more!  Bomb It often!  Just Bomb It!

Ages three and up, some dissembly required.
