As the rest of the country watches in head-scratching amazement as the likes of Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul take turns being the Not Romney in the race for the Republican nomination, conservative pundits are still dreaming of another candidate entering the fray. From NRO's Rich Lowry:
Speaking of discontent with the Republican field, I talked the other day to a pretty prominent conservative officeholder who’s constantly been discussing with people around the country the possibility of a new entrant or a push to draft someone. But who? [blah, blah, blah, Bobby Jindal, blah, blah] The other alternative for a new candidate is a convention where no one has a majority of delegates. That also is far-fetched, but not impossible as Brian demonstrated in his “Getting to Brokered” piece. It’s hard to argue, though, with the bottom line of this conservative: In an election with enormous consequences for the future of our country, “we don’t have our A team on the field.”

That "A team" being ... who? Lowry doesn't say, but one can only assume that he's still dreaming of starbursts.

As are we all.
