I a€™m running in the upcoming recall election against Republican Terry Moulton on June 5th to restore priorities in job creation and to balance the budget fairly with corporations paying their fair share just as public employees have been asked to do. I will work hard to end the fighting in Madison and help Wisconsin once again become a leader in creating good paying jobs, instead of being the state with the largest job losses in country under Scott Walker and Terry Moulton's failed leadership.

As a community leader and former State Representative, I have been a tireless advocate for west-central Wisconsin. In the Assembly, I supported the American Jobs Act which requires a state contract to be performed by U.S. companies and ensures that jobs stay in the United States. I voted to require multi-national corporations to pay their share of taxes. I worked to help small businesses pool together to purchase lower cost health insurance, which helps control their healthcare costs and allows them to invest in their business or hire more employees. I also led efforts to increase aid for improved job training programs at technical colleges to help workers who have been laid off. As Senator, I will restore priorities in job creation, education and accountable government that have been abandoned by Scott Walker and Terry Moulton in favor of pursuing their extreme ideological agenda.

In contrast, since Terry Moulton took office in January 2011, Wisconsin has been on a dismal downward spiral with tea party politics taking precedence over improving the lives of everyday Wisconsinites. From March 2011-March 2012, Wisconsin lost 23,900 jobs, the most in the country. Unfortunately, the recent jobs report for April reveals that Wisconsin continues to hemorrhage jobs, to the tune of 9,200 lost jobs. As a State Senator, Terry voted to eliminate the bargaining rights of 175,000 workers, and then wanted to go further by including all police officers and firefighters. Terry voted to raise taxes on working families and seniors by $70 million, while cutting taxes for corporations and high-income residents by $210 million. Terry voted to cut and restrain public school funding by $1.6 billion, while giving $35 million for private school vouchers in Milwaukee County. Terry voted for a $500 million cut from Medicaid, which may result in a loss of health care coverage for 17,000 Wisconsinites and increase the cost of coverage and reduce benefits for another 300,000.

During Moulton's tenure in the Wisconsin Senate, Wisconsin has not only experienced historic job losses, but Moulton and his Republican colleagues have turned their backs on workers and middle class families to give political payback to their corporate allies. The truth is Wisconsin simply can't afford another two years of Terry Moulton.

I am absolutely committed to fighting for the rights of the working class families and small businesses Terry Moulton has abandoned. I will do everything in my power to build a better future for all Wisconsinites!
