Rick Santorum said that the Republican Party is not for the intelligent. And republicans are providing evidence of the accuracy of Santorum's statement every day.
Rick Santorum told Republicans:
We will never have the elite, smart people on our side.
Michele Bachmann did her best to substantiate Santorum's assertion. And today, an employee of the public education system of the State of Tennessee, one Glenn Reynolds, provided more evidence in support of Santorum's view, calling on President Obama to resign:
WHY BARACK OBAMA SHOULD RESIGN. Just for the record, this is what it looked like for a man who made a film that made the Obama Administration uncomfortable [...] By sending — literally — brownshirted enforcers to engage in — literally — a midnight knock at the door of a man for the non-crime of embarrassing the President of the United States and his administration, President Obama violated [his] oath. You can try to pretty this up (It’s just about possible probation violations! Sure.), or make excuses or draw distinctions, but that’s what’s happened. It is a betrayal of his duties as President, and a disgrace. [Emphasis supplied.]
Heh, indeed. Meanwhile, back on planet Earth, Jeralyn Merritt, who happens to be a criminal defense attorney, explains that:
California film producer Nakoula Basseley Nakoula has been released after voluntarily going to an LA Sheriff's station to be questioned by federal probation officers [...] Reading through the terms of probation, it's hard to believe Nakoula didn't commit some violation, even if only technical. While he's been released today, I won't be surprised if its just temporary, while the feds put a case together for violation of supervised release. If they do, it probably won't be public until after he's arrested or turns himself in and makes his first appearance.

Law and order Republicans!!! Except when someone hates Muslims. Then no laws or probation terms need apply. Republican stupidity on parade.

Santorum proved right again.
