The media is NOT reporting this as a Republican Scandal.  The right wing is trying to make it into Whitewater and hang it on Obama.

I've divided this cast into three sections.  Known Republicans, Probable Republicans, Possible Republicans.

Interesting, isn't it, that no one seems to have told any Democrats about this until it exploded?

Get to work, KOS Krew, and confirm the probables and possibles.

And that slime, Eric Cantor?  Note he told a Richard Cullen a lawyer in private practice, about a possible breach of national security.  Richard Cullen should not have been in the loop.

Known Republicans

David Petraeus

Rep Dave Reichert (R) WA

Rep Eric Cantor (R) VA

Steve Stombres, Chief of Staff to Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.)

Richard Cullen, former AG VA, "on President George W. Bush’s legal team during the recount of the 2000 election in Florida."

Speaker of the House, John Boehner

Probable Republicans

Shirtless FBI Agent With Anti-Obama Worldview

Prominent members of Conservative Washington Think Tanks at Petraeus Afghan HQ

Paula Broadwell

Dr. Scott Broadwell

Jill Kelley

Dr. Scott Kelley

Possible Republicans

General John Allen, Petraeus Successor, Prolific Jill Kelley correspondent

Paul Krantz, Paula Broadwell's father

The FBI agent who contacted Reichert was the same one who first received the allegations from Tampa socialite Jill Kelley . . .

The day after the late-October call, Rory Cooper said, Cantor conferred with his chief of staff, Steve Stombres, and Richard Cullen, a former attorney general of Virginia who also served as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Cantor decided after those conversations to call the FBI, but couldn’t do so until Wednesday, Oct. 31, because the government was closed due to Superstorm Sandy.

The New York Times reports of an interesting wrinkle in the political implications of the conduct of the "shirtless" agent who seemed to be pursuing Mrs. Kelley and "advocating" on her behalf with keen interest: "Later, the agent became convinced — incorrectly, the official said — that the case had stalled. Because of his 'worldview,' as the [F.B.I.] official put it, he [the "shirtless" agent] suspected a politically motivated cover-up to protect President Obama."

Nov 13 (Reuters) - Former CIA Director David Petraeus and the top U.S commander in Afghanistan, General John Allen, both recently intervened in a child custody battle on behalf of the twin sister of the Florida woman at the center of a scandal that has engulfed both men, court documents show.

Prominent members of conservative, Washington-based defense think tanks were given permanent office space at his headquarters and access to military aircraft to tour the battlefield. They provided advice to field commanders that sometimes conflicted with orders the commanders were getting from their immediate bosses.

Some of Petraeus's staff officers said he and the American mission in Afghanistan benefited from the broader array of viewpoints, but others complained that the outsiders were a distraction, the price of his growing fame.

The father of Paula Broadwell is standing by his daughter and says “there is a lot more that is going to come out,” a report says.

Paul Krantz, Broadwell’s father, told the New York Daily News at his home in Bismarck, N.D., said that there is much more to the story of her relationship with Gen. David Petraeus.

“This is about something else entirely, and the truth will come out,” he said. “There is a lot more that is going to come out…You wait and see. There’s a lot more here than meets the eye.”
