The National Organization for Marriage proves once again that, despite what they have often claimed, they are not just about marriage. The organization's Ruth Institute project is, as I type, quite concerned about a growing problem in our nation's state universities. That problem is that, well, there are gay people in them. And drag parties. And not enough socially conservative Catholics. Or something like that.

Ruth Institute head Jennifer Roback Morse, who now appears to be sporting a 40-pound cross hanging around her neck, took to YouTube a few days ago to warn of this gay conspiracy to take over college dorms. No, I'm not even exaggerating. Morse actually appears to believe that gays are conspiring to take over dorms. You know, so they can host drag parties and make fundamentalist Christians uncomfortable. It's #22 on the Homosexual Agenda memo that circulated this year, remember? Follow me below the fold, because this video is that good.

Morse starts off by relaying a horrifying story of a Catholic resident adviser whose dorm held a (brace yourself) drag party as one of their social events for the year. Apparently, this drag party happened because her chief RA is (brace yourself again) gay. Did you know they were allowing gay people to be RAs? Jennifer Roback Morse didn't, apparently. And she is appalled.

I was visiting with a large state university, and I had a speaking engagement with a Catholic student group there. One of the young ladies in the group told me that she's a resident adviser in her dorm, and the chief resident adviser in her particular dorm happened to be a homosexual man. Last year, he decided that it was a good idea to have, as a social event in their dorm, a drag party. A drag party, presumably, would be where everybody dresses up in clothing of the opposite sex. Well, this young lady that I met--a good Catholic girl--was not eager to participate, and she said, "You know, I really don't think I can be part of this. This is just not something I want to contribute to." And her pressed her pretty hard about why and...was really trying to make her uncomfortable. She felt very strongly that he was trying to get her to either go along with the program or make her feel bad, make her look bad. Finally, what they came up with is that she would need to do her own program, provide her own event...that she would have sole responsibility for putting on for her dormitory of 800 students. So he was pressuring her to participate and he was being punitive with her.
Now, setting aside whether I believe this story (I don't), the video gets stranger still. Morse then proceeds to imply that there is some sort of vast gay conspiracy to take over dorm activities.
The reason I tell you this story is that a lot of our students are encountering this type of situation in their dorms and on their college campuses.

What I want to say to you is that the other side has RAs in the dorm where your young people are going to school.

Gay RAs...in the dorm, even!

It gets even better:

This holiday season when your young people come home from college, ask them about this. Ask if they have a gay RA in their dorms, because as I've talked to other people about this, a lot of them have said, "Gosh, now that you mention it, my daughter was in a dorm, even in a Christian college, where she had a gay RA." So please, talk to your young people about this and see what kind of pressure they may be under that maybe they don't even realize how much it's having an impact on them.
Watch for yourself:

Yep, as we're winning the hearts and minds of Americans--and not to mention winning at the ballot box--this is what the other side is up to. Fretting about gay people taking over college dorms. Wringing their hands about drag parties and punitive gay RAs. The anti-gay right is a circus.

Gay RAs...imagine! Next thing you know, they'll want to be United States Senators. Oh, wait...

Face it, Ms. Morse...the problem isn't the gay RAs, the problem is that young people just don't give a shit about what you have to say anymore.
