An Indiana woman is suing a Catholic church for refusing to install the headstone she had designed to honor her late husband's favorite activities.

Shannon Carr lost her husband in a car accident in 2009.  To immortalize his interests she spent $9600 having a couch-shaped black granite tombstone emblazoned with color NASCAR and Indianapolis Colts logos as well as etchings of a dog and a deer.

St. Joseph Catholic Church told Carr the headstone did not meet their aesthetic standards and would not be allowed in their 100 year-old cemetery.  Carr's suit alleges the church did not notify her of any such regulations until after the stone was made.
