The demonization of President Barack Obama has reached new heights and actually put the former defunct talk show host Glenn Beck back into the the mainstream media spotlight in a rather famous tweet which has made national and international headlines.

British newspaper the Guardian asks: Does The Bible's Satan look like Barack Obama?

Glenn Beck first posed whether Satan in the History Channel's The Bible resembled the US president. Producers have denied the likeness, but what do you think?

The German magazine the Bild quite sensibly asks, why does the actor who is portraying the Devil in the History Channel's miniseries "The Bible" a Barack Obama lookalike?

This is clear evidence that this story has taken on an international aspect that Democrats in the U.S. should be made aware of, but more to the point is why does the first African-American president, twice duly elected by the American people, have to put up with what can only be looked as the demonization of Barack Obama. Who does that demonization hurt should likewise be asked, doesn't it hurt the Obama democratic constituency? Isn't it time we spoke out as the whole world is now talking about this. Shouldn't we be asking when is it enough?

Controversy

There have been claims of a resemblance of the actor that plays Satan with current US President Barack Obama. Glenn Beck was among the first to publicly reveal this oddity on Twitter.[21] This has led the History Channel to announce:

"HISTORY channel has the highest respect for President Obama. The Bible series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It's unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. HISTORY’s ‘The Bible’ is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history."

Executive Producers, Mark Burnett & Roma Downey has said: "This is utter nonsense. The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouazanni, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics– including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our President."

During the last election, it was the mindless birther movement that got the headlines, now it's an Obama lookalike (in a black hoodie no less) catching the headlines at which point to reiterate, reasonably shouldn't we ask honestly when is it enough. When can we start talking about the real democratic agenda and ask when will America finally have access to universal medical care, dental care and paid maternity leave by right of law, like every other major industrialized country in the world? But most importantly shouldn't we also ask when we will finally speak up in defense of President Obama. Yes, I voted for Obama twice. Yes, he has done things to disappoint me. Yes, I think we can and must do better. But I also think something else, why does the very first, twice duly elected African-American president have to put up with this?

When is it enough? When will Democrats finally speak out and say we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore.

In keeping with the old maxim, the truth is all that has to happen for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. Therefore this diary invites you to to step up, stand up and speak out.
