AWB passed as an amendment in 1994, and it's going to be introduced as an amendment this time, too.

Feinstein says she will feel a personal betrayal by Reid if it does not get a vote.

White House is still supporting/pushing.

Maddow says call your Senator, the NRA and gun rights supporters will be.

Here's a list of your Senator's phone #:

It's been about three months since the atrocity at Sandy Hook and those kids, teachers and administrators deserve a vote.

If you are having trouble getting motivated to push for gun safety legislation, let this push you to act - it's a conversation between a grieving mom and the President:

"I really didn't know what to expect," Lewis said of the president's meeting. "He asked for a picture, and I showed him a picture of Jesse, the one everyone has of him in his soccer uniform. I told him, 'I just want you to know he died a hero. He ran into harm's way.'

"He took the picture and he looked at it. He was quiet for a while, and he finally said, 'He looks like a very brave boy and I bet this didn't surprise you at all.' I said, `You're right.'"

The legislation is making its way through the Senate, and now is the time to act.

If you support this legislation, don't let this moment pass.

Get on the phone and tell your Senator you want the the assault weapons ban and the other gun safety measures passed.

"WASHINGTON -- Vice President Joe Biden teamed up with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Thursday to give another push to Congress to do something about gun violence, challenging lawmakers to show some courage on an issue that has broad public support.

"The American people could not be any clearer about where they stand," Bloomberg said at a press event, surrounded by families impacted by the shootings in Newtown, Conn."
