This week media giant Clear Channel Communications revealed that its Chairman of the Board (and son of the company's founder) Mark Mays will be leaving his position in May.

It's been a very rough year for Clear Channel.  Their right wing radio golden boy Rush Limbaugh has been battered by the StopRush movement through the efforts of activist groups like Flush Rush Facebook.  Last month, Clear Channel reported losses of $424 million for 2012.  The media company has been firing employees throughout the past year in an effort to stop the hemorrhaging, to no avail.

This week new volunteers have been streaming into the StopRush movement due in large part to interest in the Supreme Court's hearings on gay marriage and Rush Limbaugh's predictable homophobic rants.  It's time for Clear Channel to realize that their old business model of milking dollars out of right wing hate is no longer working.  It's time to cut bait and let El Rushbo out to pasture.

Decent folks who believe in tolerance and equality are no longer powerless against Limbaugh's efforts to spread intolerance on the radio.  StopRush is making a major impact--and with your help we can do even more.  Just a few emails, tweets, or Facebook messages a week to Limbaugh's advertisers can go a long way toward deflating his gas bag.  It is our collective voice that makes us strong.
