Rush Limbaugh is working as hard as he can to dehumanize families whose children were murdered in the Newtown massacre.

On his Friday radio show Limbaugh pushed back against the recent increase of Newtown parents calling for steps to be taken to protect children from suffering the horror visited upon them at Sandy Hook Elementary less than four months ago.

Limbaugh referred specifically to a Newtown parent giving President Obama's weekly presidential address--the first time in his presidency Obama has turned that responsibility over to someone else. The address was given this morning by Francine Wheeler, whose 6 year-old son Benjamin was one of 20 children killed by Adam Lanza.

Ben is pictured here:

Benjamin had a great singing voice and wanted to be a paleontologist when he grew up.  He will never get that chance now.

His parents will never get to celebrate his birthday again, see him get his driver's license, walk him down the aisle.  Their beautiful boy has been wrenched away from them by an act of gun violence which could have been prevented.

According to Benjamin's mom, the Wheeler family's goal now is to "prevent more tragedies like the one we never thought would happen to us," to help keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people.  And how else can a family like this honor the memory of their slain child than to work to prevent this pain for someone else?  Isn't it just about the only thing they have the power to do?

Here is Wallace's presidential address:

Rush Limbaugh's take, of course, is very different.  He doesn't know what it's like to lose a child to an assault weapon, partly because none of his four marriages have resulted in any.  It's just another case of the man with the $400 million radio contract pretending like he has the insight and authority to speak on a topic he knows nothing about.

To the cynical and heartless Rush Limbaugh, Wallace's actions have nothing to do with grieving and everything to do with exploiting her child for political purposes:

"Now I got a guy who calls me, 'Rush, are they registered lobbyists?'

'Where’s your heart, sir? What do you mean? They’re not lobbying! They’re trying to save other people’s children.' So that’s how it works. It was the president who asked for this mother of a six-year-old who died to do his speech. Senator Richard Blumenthal (Democrat-Connecticut) is using Sandy Hook to raise money in his e-mails. They’re trying to turn the Newtown parents into a dozen Sandy Sheehans in a way. It’s what the Democrats do, folks. They always try to hide their agendas behind women and children, and, most of all, victims. So the Newtown parents are human shields, in a sense.
The Newtown parents are out there to protect the Democrats from any criticism and to shut it down. Pure and simple."
