The whole idea of the sequester is shared pain across the board. The congress hasn't acted to aid the long term unemployed. The congress hasn't been moved by cuts in aid to the poor or hungry. Help for students or head start? Forget it. But dammit, don't delay my flight.

In the interest of fairness the only proper thing to do would be for Obama to veto any bill that eases sequestration discomfort for any one group. Across the board means across the board. Letting this congress choose who feels more or less of the inconvenience is a mistake. Either fix it or live with it. The republicans wanted it, they should own it.
