This morning, at the request of the Flush Rush Facebook community, a Florida gun shop removed its ads from the controversial Rush Limbaugh Show. The owner--who shall remain anonymous in order to prevent a right wing backlash--sent the following message to volunteers:
"Thanks for contacting us in reference to your concern of the ads with [radio station]. The ads were with the radio station and not Rush Limbaugh and we were not notified of where the spots were to play. We have contacted [radio station] and informed them that if we do ever advertise with them again, we would not allow it to be during the Limbaugh show as we do not share his views nor do we support his show."
Gun shops are frequent advertisers on the Rush Limbaugh Show--he appeals to the survivalist who believes the Mexicans and the United Nations are taking over the world. As you might expect, most of these businesses respond to Flush Rush volunteers by emphatically inviting them to make love with themselves, such as this lovely response from a Cincinnati store:
"Please eat a gigantic dick, thanks."
That "thanks" at the end is a sign of someone whose mama taught him manners.
It's encouraging to know that there are some business owners who don't sell their integrity down the river to support a radio show whose host recently said that the real victim in the Trayvon Martin tragedy is George Zimmerman.

Decent folks who believe in tolerance and equality are no longer powerless against Limbaugh's efforts to spread intolerance on the radio. StopRush is making a major impact by convincing advertisers on this show to withdraw their ads--and with your help we can do even more. Just a few emails, tweets, or Facebook messages a week to Limbaugh's advertisers can go a long way toward making hatred less profitable. It is our collective voice that makes us strong.
