OK

Found guilty already by a Federal judge of having racially profiled Latinos, now the same judge is ready to appoint a Federal Monitor to ride herd on the notorious sheriff.  It's about time.

U.S. District Judge Murray Snow said in a court hearing on Friday that the Maricopa County lawman, who styles himself as "America's toughest sheriff," needed an independent check on his actions to prevent such profiling from continuing in the future.
The judge handed down his findings in May and ordered the two sides to seek some kind of negotiated settlement, but that seemed unlikely to succeed given the negotiation was with a person who believes that Obama's birth certificate was created by a vast conspiracy.  And, in fact, the talks failed.
The judge, who ruled Arpaio had violated the constitutional rights of Latino drivers, had ordered lawyers for the sides to try to agree to steps to correct the abuse, but their efforts were largely unsuccessful.
The only better news than this appointment would be to have heard an announcement of Arpaio's long overdue retirement back to the 19th Century.

U.S. District Judge Murray Snow was very clear what would happen if Arpaio and the new Monitor disagreed:

I will resolve the disputes.
I think you're going to be VERY busy, Judge Snow.
