Just in:

(CBS/AP) KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A special prosecutor has been appointed to look into the alleged Jan. 2012 alcohol-fueled sexual assault of 14-year-old Daisy Coleman and her 13-year-old friend in Maryville, Mo.

Circuit court clerk Elaine Wilson said Monday Jackson County prosecutor Jean Peters Baker has taken on the case.

Reminiscent of the Steubenville rape case, it's once again time to ask:
Assaults on women are common, for them it's like wearing a target on them all the time

Michael Matthew Bloomer spent the 24 years between Reagan and Bush II on Capitol Hill as a legislative research and policy wanker at the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service, an agency in the belly of Congress's across-the-street library, the aptly named Library of Congress. I'm now retired and joyously freed from nonpartisanship, and I've "come out" as an aggressive progressive at my website, They Will Say ANYTHING!,There you can delight or despair by skewering GOP Congressloons, Senadorks, Me Partiers, and others of that herd. Stop by for a sometimes serious, sometimes funny, and always aggressively progressive POV, and with plenty of fun graphics to boot!
