"All My Relations" -- Meteor Blades' quilt will be organized somewhat like this but in a different color palette.

Everyone on Daily Kos was stunned to hear that Meteor Blades suffered a heart attack in early November.  The good news is that he is okay and healing well -- and he is taking good care of himself.  We are making a community quilt to celebrate his return to health and to let him know how much people care about him.  We will support his healing with the warmth of community love and respect, all stitched into a beautiful blanket.

This is how the quilt will be assembled...

What is a community quilt?  It is a type of friendship quilt containing messages of love and support from you transcribed by me in archival ink.  Meteor Blades' heart will be lifted by community spirit as he gets better -- and when he has completely recovered, he can hang this quilt on the wall and continue to be inspired by his friends' loving messages.  Forever.

Because this quilt will be made in diamond shapes rather than our usual 4.5" squares, I won't be able to transcribe long poems -- so please make your messages shorter rather than longer.  The star pattern will hold 200 messages.

namvetkato's quilt -- it should have arrived today!

It takes time and material to make a community quilt -- and it is our living.  If you would like to contribute toward the cost of making this quilt, here is a PayPal link -- or message me for an address if you prefer a check.  $15/message is suggested -- although some give more to cover for those who cannot afford to donate but whose messages will mean so much to Meteor Blades.  Ann and I thank you for your support!

We're currently working on transcribing Annalize5's messages -- she'll have her quilt before Christmas.

Meteor Blade's quilt will take some time -- and he has asked me to put quilts of severely ill people before his.  So you may see some quilt diaries before this star quilt is delivered.  I am planning to hand quilt it, too (the best way to handle this design).  Periodic pictures of progress will be posted, I promise!
