Now that Rep. Steve Stockman has filed to run in the U.S. Senate primary against Senator John Cornyn and chosen not to seen re-election to represent Texas's 36th Congressional District, this has effectively become an open race between Democratic Candidate Michael Cole and the eventual would-be Republican nominee (and there are more than four GOP candidates in the race).

Looks like Michael Cole has his first fundraising event of the year on January 11, 2014 at Orange, TX.  Details and registration below:

I did some coverage of Michael Cole on Daily Kos a number of months ago back in August so in case you need a refresher on those diaries, who Cole is, and what he has to offer they are as follows:

Interview with Michael Cole - Aug 16 2013

Cole is a strong progressive on a number of issues, particularly with regards to the concerns on minimum wage, unemployment and the debate over what's considered to be minimum wage jobs as opposed to better-paying jobs.

Here's a video of Cole recently at a November 14 meeting at the South East Texas Progressive Democrats in Beaumont, TX.  He's pretty fired up:

And Liberal Fix did an interview with Cole as well:
