Minnie was a very popular recording artist, songwriter, singer and guitarist/bassist/drummer working from the late 1920's into the 1950's. This is Me And My Chauffeur Blues, the earlier version recorded in the early 1930's...I believe '32. Minnie sings and plays guitar, and is accompanied on another guitar by Little Son Joe... The later version is from 1950, I believe and features electric instruments, bass and drums...

She wrote from a woman's perspective, and not a shy or self effacing woman, either.

Minnie was a pretty uptown and jazzy blues player, and later recordings from the 40's and 50's feature her with a small band, electric guitars and drums...she was an american treasure and she has a LOT of recordings on CD if anyone is interested.
