This is pretty hilarious.  Rush Limbaugh, an ardent opponent of medical marijuana, is so hard up for ads after a two year long activist campaign by Flush Rush that he's now stuck airing ads for it on his right wing clown show.

Limbaugh has previously expressed his opposition to the use of marijuana for medical purposes:

"The FDA says there's no -- zilch, zero, nada -- shred of medicinal value to the evil weed marijuana. This is going to be a setback to the long-haired, maggot-infested, dope-smoking crowd."
You see, Limbaugh prefers more synthetic pain management alternatives.  El Rushbo was arrested a few years back for doctor shopping to feed a massive addiction to the powerful opiate OxyContin.

Since then (and before then), Limbaugh has consistently portrayed "doing doobies" as something for people with no standards--you know, Hispanics and liberals:

"...the majority of some group, maybe the whole population, wants marijuana legalized...The Republican Party is being told that to get the Hispanic vote, you better do what they want.  Right?  Stick with me on this.  The Republican leadership is reacting this way as though, okay, they must.  The Republican Party is willing, apparently, to put aside their principles in the quest to get minority voters."
But it would appear that even Limbaugh's staunch, racist standards have their financial limitations.

Here's the ad, which aired yesterday in Medford, Oregon:

*

Ashland Alternative Health opened in 2009 and diagnoses patients to determine whether they qualify for medical marijuana, then helps them obtain cards which will permit them to grow and use it.

Since Limbaugh's vicious attack on Sandra Fluke 2 years ago, 3069 advertisers have deliberately removed their ads from his controversial program rather than have their brands be spattered with his bile, leaving him with scam commercials and ads for things he detests like renewable energy and, apparently, medical ganja.

Let's see how long it will take for Ashland to become advertiser #3070.

Decent folks who believe in tolerance and equality are no longer powerless against Rush Limbaugh's efforts to spread intolerance on the radio.  StopRush is making a major impact by convincing advertisers on this show to withdraw their ads--and with your help we can do even more.  Just a few emails, tweets, or Facebook messages a week to Limbaugh's advertisers can go a long way toward making hatred less profitable.  It is our collective voice that makes us strong.
