U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (C) and Senator Mike Lee (2nd R) speak to reporters about their opposition after the Senate passed a spending bill to avoid a government shutdown, sending the issue back to the House of Representatives, at the U.S. Capitol in Washing
Sen. Ted "Calgary" Cruz has weighed in on the GOP senate nomination battle in Mississippi and his verdict is simple: Let the popcorn keep popping.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) appeared on a conservative talk radio show Monday to call for opponent Chris McDaniel’s legal challenges to be “vigorously investigated” and blasted Mr. Cochran’s campaign team airing “racially-charged false attacks” against Mr. McDaniel.

“I very much hope that no Republican was involved in voter fraud,” Mr. Cruz said on Mark Levin’s radio show, in a segment the McDaniel campaign distributed to reporters Monday night. “But these allegations need to be vigorously investigated and anyone involved in criminal conduct should be prosecuted. The voters of Mississippi deserve to know the truth.”

Of course, this is Ted Cruz, and Ted Cruz, being the most brilliant and knowledgeable man on the face of this Earth, already knows what happened:
“What the D.C. machine did was not try to grow the party,” Mr. Cruz said. “The ads they ran were racially charged false attacks and they were explicit promises to continue to expand the welfare state.”
“What we know from the outset is that Chris McDaniel won a sizeable majority of votes from Republicans in the runoff,” Mr. Cruz said. “But the D.C. machine spent hundreds of thousands of dollars urging some 30 to 40,000 partisan Democrats to vote in the runoff, which changed the outcome.”
On Monday, McDaniel's campaign announced they would file suit to overturn the primary runoff results and would demand a new election. Although Cruz didn't explicitly endorse that effort, it's pretty obvious from his statement which side he's on. Given that Cruz speaks for the GOP's lunatics—aka, "the Republican base"—when he says something isn't over, it's a pretty good bet that it isn't.
