Received this e-mail today from CREDO Action regarding Governor Jerry Brown (D. CA):
Governor Brown is continuing to press for a California oil-fracking boom, putting public health and the climate at risk.

His administration just released a revised draft of his proposed fracking regulations, which still allow a dangerous expansion of fracking in California, despite the opposition of the more than 100,000 Californians who submitted public comments opposing the first plan.

We have an important opportunity to protest these outrageous pro-fracking regulations on Thursday in Long Beach, where the state is holding a public hearing about the regulations. Sign up to attend the hearing and speak out for a ban on fracking.

What: Fracking hearing in Long Beach
When: Thursday, July 17, 4 pm
Where: Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, 300 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802
Click here to RSVP for the hearing.

There is no safe way to frack. No regulations will prevent this inherently dangerous method of oil extraction from poisoning nearby communities and accelerating climate change.

But instead of being the climate hero he claims to be and banning fracking outright, Governor Brown is hypocritically continuing to encourage the oil industry to drill in our state.

I hope you can make it to the hearing on Thursday. We need to call out this hypocrisy and make it clear that nothing short of an outright ban will truly protect Californians from fracking.

Thank you for fighting fracking.
