But, by far our greatest resource is our people. The hard working men and women of this state are the backbone of our economy.
That’s why my number one priority when I am elected to the United States Senate is supporting good-paying jobs.
As a small business owner, I know firsthand how government can get in the way of job growth. That’s why as Secretary of State, I cut fees for small businesses and made it easier for businesses to file paperwork online. This saves time and money that businesses can spend creating more jobs.
In spite of the progress we’ve made here in West Virginia, the federal government allows companies to write off the moving expenses for shipping jobs overseas as a tax deduction. That means that American workers are footing the bill for shipping their own jobs overseas.
This policy is outrageous, and that’s why I’m calling on Congress to pass the Bring Jobs Home Act, which ends those tax breaks for companies that ship our jobs overseas and instead cuts taxes for companies that bring jobs home.

This is critical legislation, and it’s something we should all agree on – why should companies be rewarded for shipping jobs overseas?
When this bill comes up for a vote in Congress, we need to make sure it passes. Will you join me in calling on Congress to support this bill?

Thank you for joining me in calling on the passage of this critical legislation – when our voices come together, we can get things done- for West Virginia and for our country.
